Lucy Watts MBE named 2020 Digital Leader of the Year
Lucy has been named the 2020 Digital Leader of the Year by Digi Leaders.
Lucy said:
“It’s a true honour to have been awarded – and considered worthy of – the 2020 Digital Leader of the Year in the DL100. I still can’t believe I made it as a finalist, let alone to be crowned the official Digital Leader of the Year.
“I try to use tech and digital tools to enable the unheard voices to be heard, and the hidden members of society to be seen and included. I am also always trying to develop new ways of getting the voices of people with lived experience to the decision-making table. Whether using social media to conduct research and focus groups, to developing mixed media online resources to support difficult topics, to facilitating the involvement of individuals (patients) and carers in health, care and related sectors to ensure we learn from the most under-utilised resource we have: lived experience”.
“Thank you to all those who voted for me and to the judges for their support. I still keep wanting to ask someone to pinch me – how did little old me become worthy of such an accolade?”
